Do you think that the P500.1 would be enough power to really make the CW 12 i have bump?
or should i step up to the P1500.1 or P1000.1???

thanks

The P500.1 is 1 Ohm stable. So at 2 Ohms it will produce around 300 watts. Enough to work but I would recommened more power to really make the CW sing.

The new DB1000.1 is 500 watts @ 2 Ohm and would do the trick.
Also a P1000.1 will also work well.

Seconded, if you can, go for a P1000.1  ;D

Hi there.

I'm putting 2 DMX 15's in and 2 P 3000.1 Amps i was wondering if the amp produce 6000 watts each at 4 ohm load? I only wish the amps were stable at 1 ohm or can i wire the subs for a single 2 ohm configuration for each amp the manual only shows a wireing config for dual 2 ohm load not a single? I wanna use the system for Competition.

im pushin a single 12' dmx with 2 p3000s. any thoughts as to how well the sub will take the power?

Have you had it at full volume yet? The DMX 12 Series is very good but its only rated for 5000w max as you well know with 2 P3000.1 capable of a total 12000w of power well the sub might last 5-10 min on max volume if the amps have a two ohm load to each using the dual two ohm wireing diagram. But sounds like fun and am very interested to hear how well it performs at full volume.

well i have been very careful with it so far. im really scared of blowing it. but we metered it with music and i hit a 149.7. and that is out of a trunk of an alero. otherwise ive tryed to keep it down for the most part. that say its suppose to be an spl sub not made for music. but id like to compete in a street beat class. (bc as u know the base it on number of woofers, not how much powere u have) so id be in a street beat 1 class. if i was doin a straight up spl class id get rapped lol  :-[

I'd do a P1500.1 on 2 CW's They are rated for 600rms/1200peak so the amp is a little more power than you need, but you'd gain better headroom which means your amp wont be taxed to drive the subs at high volume.

What frequency are you burping the DMX at? I recommended 65Hz. If that’s the case it should take 2500 watts each side (5000 total) for the burp. Don’t try and play music at that wattage though. The DMX has great sound quality for music but the power needs to be drastically lower than that. Also the tuning of the box will make or break any setup-

i beleive the box has aroun 4 cubic feet of airspace with 3 inches of port on each side. box is tuned to 48hz. the sub is tuned to 70 something i beleive. we did play music thru it at already (before you told me this) and we got a 149.7db. we put in a hertz disc and its sweet spot was around 55hz or so if i remember right. with the hertz disc we couldnt break 146db. i beleive the sub may have just been hot after the first run with music. do you beleive that the sub will hold up okay to daily music as long as i keep it down?? im thinking about possibly adding a second DMX to get the power to a better level. what do you think of the box?? and this sub has amazing impact... im very impressed. let me know what you think. thanx

With an enclosure that is 4 cubes, you need a minimum of 48sq.in of port area. I personally would go with around 60in^2 of vent area.

Subwoofers can not be tuned....it's the enclosure that is tuned. SPL is all about testing. You have to take into consideration the transfer function of the vehicle also, not just the enclosure tuning. If you did a 149dB with music then you need to find out what frequency that 149 was at.

Also keep in mind that power (high volume) will also change the SPL reading. You may do a 149dB @ 1/2 volume, and then do a 150dB 1 click lower. Also when burping, instead of straight out burping at full tilt, you may get a better # by rolling the volume (I do).

As far as power to the (a) DMX, 5000watts for burps and 1500watts for music.

the internal area (not including the ports on either side is about 4 cubic feets) outside area is about 6 i beleive. and by the sub, i was meaning that the recommended tuning of the sub was 70 something. my bad for the confussion of that.

so if i add a second DMX should i be good to play music thru it with the 2 p.3000s.

For music....(2)DMX and (1) P3000.1  OR (4)DMX and (2) P3000.1's

You can do the 2 subs/2 amps, but you will have to be VERY...VERY carefull with the volume. For me....that would just be too tempting....but yea...can be done.

technically to get the right ohm load i would have to do either one DMX to 2 p3000s, or 2 DMX's to 4 p3000s. . ..right? the amps are 2 ohm stable. . . DMX is 1 or 4 ohm.  .
