intresting test at what voltage is it done? and what kind of load do you use? power resistors?

Just a basic "real world" test.. 5 second average on the meter,  voltage was steady at roughly 13.2-13.3, vehicle was running, alt charges at almost 15v but while burping voltage sits at the battery float voltage of 13.2v.

test done with a sine wave at 31hz playing a Rhino 15 in a low tuned ported box

so not a fancy or 100% accurate test, but OK for a general Idea (atleast IMO)..

Rhino's a Beast...  SPL wise it's not as loud as the DMX on the lower hz (25-35hz where I burp/play) performs pretty well..

at 31hz the rhino did 147.3 on 2880watts, the DMX did 147.6 (same box same power) now this could be mainly due to the displacement of the woofer since it was a direct swap---the box is tuned higher with the rhino in there as it displaces quite a bit more space.

Massive Says not to play music on it.. it's designed for burps...  I ran the almost 3k to it for about a week playing music and it actually sounds pretty decent.. very punchy, peaky around 50hz (in the box that it's in..)  **it actually sounds cleaner at the low freq than the DMX it just doesn't SPL as loud..  **compared to a refubished dmx btw..

The Rhino is a beast. We usely don't recommend playing music and as Jeremy would say it's kinda like buying a ferrari to drive on the backroads. It's going to work, but to get Full Performance out of its design it should be used for burping at around 70 Hz.

I can tell in testing that the 50-60hz range for burps would preform much better than 30hz... I was planning on building a "fart" box for it to test with..  I cannot use that freq to compete but I'd like to see what it'll do..  **truck peaks at 32-32hz--MECA style--...

**If this thing weighed anymore I wouldn't be able to get it out of the box...   My poor little girly fingers can't hardly pull it up to get it out of the box lol...

get some pix bro. Mainly the motor on that Rhino!  My DMX coils took a poop on me. Soooooo, I've got a few ideas to play around with. I have a feeling I'll have some 10,000 watts DMX subs soon enough. Or at least the motor and frame!

That's what it's lookin' like right now. 3" flat wound pure copper coils and 7 spiders, DMX motors and frame. Unfortunantly, they will no longer have the CF cones and I really like that look. I'll keep ya posted on how it turns out as $$$ is available.

just tested on a strapped pair of db8000's... 1 ohm resting, rising to basically 2 ohm... only 3000w with the rise...  they're going to have to be wired to . resting per pair to put out much juice...

32hz btw..  voltage is dropping a bit, 12.2-12.4  normal resting is 13.3

gained 2.4db on the pair vs only ond db8k... still down .6db from my four p1500.1's

Sounds like the amps need to see a .35ohm load @ rest to get the power they're rated for. That should put you right around 1ohm under load with box rise. Looks like you may also need more battery backup. Those things have got to be pulling some current.

yeah.. I'm getting ready to step it up to 4 extra batts instead of just the two...  I need more but the 2 have been fine on the p1500's  (I've also got one extra big batt under the hood--100ah and 1100cca)  they've got quite a bit of "noise" to them over the p1500's, a little hiss and turn-on pop... I'm gonna go over the system but I had no issues with the 1500's...

I was hoping to run a pair of db8k's per woofer but not worth it unless I build my subs as D1's or D.7's..  I'll do some more testing tomorrow and on friday..  I can't drop to .5 ohm for a while... but I'll add a couple of batts and see how it does on the 1 ohm resting..

upped the juice and freq...

the pair is doing 3500watts at 3.75ohm (after rise).  the low notes are really sapping the power outta the truck.  I'll continue to test at the higher freq...   saw 3400watts at 2.45ohm 32hz (after rise) but the voltage still started to drop out..

Same problem I have with the P3K's...(voltage). I'd like to try thos Rhino's, but to get 6 will absolutely kill me. Although right now I have nothing. I'm lanning on 6-15's and 6-p3000's. I'm already starting to work with XS power for more batteries.

Now.........MASSIVE AUDIO needs an SQL sub (crossed between the DMX and the Rhino). Needs to get low (29-80Hz), handle power (3000rms on music) and 4-6 stiff spiders to keep it lanier.

The Rhino has the power handling is looks like, but isn't really musical (according to MASSIVE). So what is it lacking in this department?

the rhino did fine musically at low volumes... however the dmx plays the lows much better when running at higher volumes...  If you plan on playing the woofer stick with the dmx.

rhino  does better from 50hz on up.. so a good burping woofer....

really the DMX isn't musical either... the aluminum re-cones are the only reason I was able to burp at 20 hz... the carbons don't do the lows as well..

they need to beef up the QC 15 to handle more power
