The box was a pacman style at first was removed because of poor output below the 50hz range

. We then tried a wall style with 6 subs facing forward without being fully a wall . 2 rows of 3 subs with port a top with 20 inch long port . We then tried a 37 inch long port same results. Now this is being measured with the whole cabin and trunk space available. This indeed definately should be at lower hz. but no happy results. Now these subs put out great spl above the 50hz range but that's NOT what we want. We are no longer burping and or farting a note that high. We want that orgazmick BASS that rips your heart out and stomps on it. In short these subs are indeed wonderful subs, the look and workmanship is great. But maybe the wrong subs for our application we need.

They definitely have serious output...our windshield was really moving, but like AJ and Chris said, it's at 50Hz.  I would definitely say that these subs will rock in a consumer trunk car, but we've been having a real hard time getting them to play down at the 30 - 35Hz range, which is where we need to be for a shop demo vehicle.

I love the build quality of these...even before we mounted the first one, we had them in our display room and everyone was really pleased at the build quality of them!!

We had kept making the port longer and longer expecting the note to drop, but no matter how long we made it (38" final depth), it still did not have the gut wrenching bass at any frequency below 50Hz.

I wouldn't say I'm disappointed, I'm just baffled...and I know between AJ and I, we have over 40 years of box building experience.  ???

I'll give Jeremy a call today and see what he thinks.

That's baffling to say the least! Whats the fs or fo of the QC? 36 hz if not lower? That wall looks absolutely SICK!! Ever considered using DMX's? There fs is 43 hz..so prolly still will not give you that low,low note your looking for. Goodluck with everything, I hope you haven't given up on Massive

they do not list a fs(hz) in there specs. But it should be around 30 and below for low musical capabilities. We thought about DMX subs for finals but after the qc would not perform the way we had desired :( , the dmx have even higher fo and are staight up spl subs. We want gut wrenching bass.  By the way the pacman was sick. It was flexing the dual layed enclosure very well . But no low bass. We put all our money on these subs, if we could afford more we would buy them. And with a 4000d running to 4) subs each we had the power ??? , hell also running a 18 vot setup gave us more. I had so much hope for these subs. maybe just not in this application. As I said before these subs look great and have the fine workmanship, but I feel alittle dissapointed in the low bass output. So we are in the process in determining what to do next.

Thanks for all the input guys.

I will give you each a ring to figure out why we are having problems below 50Hz. I'm sure its something we can figure out together.

Thanks again and keep that dream alive!

Hopefully, that car will be "MASSIVE" on July 5th for my show. There's got to be a reason!

The last I heard, the focus will have Ascendant Audio subs in it. The Massives just didn't work out for then. I believe the car will be outfitted with (4) 15" subs and (2) 10K watt Powerbass amps on 16volt electrical.

We should have gone with the QC 15's instead. Suprising but 3 inches do make all the difference  :o

I would have prefered 15's . But We wanted more cone area. The Fs rating still might not have been as low as we wanted. We have a teammate trying the subs in a nissan versa hatchback. Will let ya know.
