Agreed!   He needs a break from Cali anyway! It's time for them to see what the south is all about with their products!

Chris, my hat goes off to you and your bassrace scores...I bassraced my hummer this weekend for the first time...alot harder than it sounds...I won my class, average score on music 148.3.Hard keeping voltage up for 30 second runs..peak note was 48 hertz. My box has a removabe port..one is tuned for music(37 hertz)..the other port is tuned higher(43hz)it metters better. We ran with the deeper port (37hz) it sounds better on music, but the other port is about 2db's louder and the peak note is 51hz.
The same stero shop has another contest on the 17th of May, I'm gonna use the port tuned at 43 hertz and see if I can break the 150's on music. I burbed it, just to see what it could do and on their tl, it was 150.4. I meant to ask when was the last time they had their tl calibrated, but I forgot. I was a 152.5 with the other port(43hz) at the shop that did my install, but Toney hadn't had his tl calibrated in over a year, so I'm not sure how accurate those numbers are. The 153 I told you about last week was a faulty reading, I didn't know that when I talked to you. I'm happy with it, and like I said, my hat goes off to you..I don't think people realize how loud 153 plus db is on music, and I'm still guessing with your gear, you'll be on the other side of 156 once everything is said and done!

To get max SPL, tune to teh resonant frequency of the vehicle. For bass race....DO THE SAME! Then you have to find "MUSIC" with that frequency. The hardest part is being consistant getting (and maintaining) a XXX.9dB isn't as east as some folks thing. Especially for me.

As far as calibrating the TL (sensor), I don't believe it ever needs it. But it must be set up properly. Keep in mind that the ambient air temp, barometric pressure and voltage all play a part in your scores.

Congrats on your readings! Pretty good scores, and higher scores to come.....for both of us!
